GTA Smart Drivers’ BDE course is an MTO-approved Beginner Driver Education program. It combines 30 hours of online learning with at least 10 hours in the car. According to DriveTest, completing an approved course lets you take your G2 road test after 8 months on a G1 instead of 12.

Every package includes MTO certification, pick-up and drop-off, and help booking your road test early. The only extra charge is for using our vehicle on test day. You must finish the program within one year of registering.
You learn Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act and road rules, defensive driving strategies, hazard recognition and risk awareness, and road safety in different weather and traffic conditions. It runs on a phone or laptop, whenever you choose. Read more on our online driver education page.
You work one-on-one with an instructor in Brampton and Mississauga traffic. Lessons cover vehicle control and spatial awareness, turns, lane changes, intersections, parallel and reverse parking, and defensive driving in real situations.

These are minimums. You still have to pass each road test.
Plenty of our students have never touched a steering wheel. Lessons begin with the basics and move forward at your pace, with no rushing, no pressure, and no judgment. Our instructors have over 15 years of experience teaching nervous beginners to drive confidently.
Regular suits students who already have some practice. Advanced adds 2 hours for 90(45 per extra hour). Premium adds 5 hours for 200(40 per extra hour) and suits nervous first-time drivers or anyone with a booked test date. Higher tiers cost less per hour, so if you think 10 hours will be tight, book up front.
You receive MTO certification and may qualify for an insurance discount, subject to your insurer and MTO guidelines. Then book your road test at the Brampton DriveTest center, and our G2 road test preparation lessons will help you get ready.
BDE stands for Beginner Driver Education. It is a government-approved course that combines classroom learning with in-car lessons, and it shortens the G1 waiting period from 12 months to 8.
Our packages cost $530, $620, or $730, plus applicable taxes, depending on whether you want 10, 12, or 15 hours in the car.
It may qualify you for a discount, but your insurer decides eligibility and the amount. Ask for quotes with and without the certificate.
You must complete the program within one year of registering. The online portion is self-paced, so most students finish it well before then.
The time you save shrinks the longer you have held your G1. Call us with your G1 date, and we will tell you honestly whether the course still makes sense.
